ServiceNow Technical Architect

Job Description

ServiceNow Technical Architect is required to Design and Implement ServiceNow as a tool. The role requires hands-on in-depth technical/development understanding and experience of ServiceNow, its technical integration to third party systems, a probing, logical and analytical mindset, root cause analysis and remediation with good team management are some of the key skills required to be successful in this role. Experience in infrastructure and platform operations is not necessary but desirable.

The candidate will report to the Chief Engineer and will need to be a self-starter able to identify and implement necessary tasks within their his area of responsibility and the flexibility necessary to work within a dynamic Programme; responsibilities will include working with other Leidos staff (technical and non-technical), partners and potential customers to deliver fit for purpose, fit for use technical capabilities.

Able to execute and perform without assistance, and possessing significant practical experience and applied knowledge across the following areas:

  • Facilitate and provide significant development or technical contributions to the IT service management tooling and associated service desk detailed design
  • Hands on implementation of ServiceNow as per the design, including configuration of workflow within ITSM or ITOM modules.
  • Development and implementation of one or more of the following: Monitoring, Event Management, Asset Management and Configuration Management within ITSM tool. Automation is also desirable.
  • Integration between ServiceNow and third party applications, including interface definition
  • Core system setup including Application Security, Authentication options, etc.
  • Instance management, performance and coding best practices.
  • ITIL processes and functions, at intermediate level or equivalent experience <--move down
  • Technical leadership of a development team using methodologies such as Agile or DevOps
  • Creation and maintenance of a backlog or schedule of technical projects and significant activities
  • Able to influence, collaboration and effectively communication with all stakeholders
  • Intellectual calibre, technical awareness and confidence to challenge engineers to ensure timely delivery adherence to process and identification of technical issues
  • Able to identify and manage the rectification of potential technical issues that may impact delivery
  • Active participation in technical boards and meetings as required
  • Provide status reporting as required
  • Assure the quality of the technical work products
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Able to nurture and work well in a team environment
