THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY

Reporting to the Finance Manager the Financial Analyst is responsible for providing Programme Financial Control and ensuring the integrity of the programme(s). The duties of this position include a wide variety of finance oriented tasks in the oversight of a new and complex programme.

Primary duties include but not be limited to:

Programme Financial Management (External Customer Focus)

  • Be a key member of Program Management Team (Finance Business Partner)
  • Provide highest level of customer service to all customers and stakeholders
  • Develops, tracks and updates programme baseline including tracking actual costs against baseline (Programme Performance Management), including development and overall management of program Estimate At Complete (EAC)
  • Earned Value Management (when applicable)
  • Analysis of programme actuals for accuracy, identifying & correcting errors, and communicating issues to Program Management to prevent future errors
  • Responsibility for producing programme financial customer deliverables (CDRLs)
  • Supporting financial presentation for programme or operational reviews
  • Pricing of on-contract growth opportunities
  • Financial Management (Internal Corporate Focus)
  • Develop Financial EAC and required artefacts to support EAC position and present during quarterly EAC review meetings
  • Performing both short and long term forecasting for corporate metrics (Awards, Revenue, and Operating Income) at the programme level. Providing commentary on variances and of any financial Risks & Opportunities against financial forecast
  • Accountable for program billing (in coordination with Leidos Billing Team), cash collection, analysis and clearing of unbilled receivables
  • Ownership of monthly closing process, validating awards/bookings, backlog, revenue & operating income
  • Ongoing contract closeout activities during active contract performance
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Provide excellent Adhoc support to a wide variety of stakeholders both within the finance leadership team, and wider operational teams
  • The candidate will be expected to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and to show a degree of flexibility in working hours when required to meet project and finance deadlines. The successful candidate will take ownership of decisions made.

     

    Required Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Previous experience working on a large programme
  • Recognised accounting qualification eg CIMA
  • Team player but able to work independently and proactively
  • Good time management with the ability to achieve deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively across organisations and with multiple locations
 Desired Skills:
  • Earned Value experience
  • Project/programme accounting experience
  • Pricing/Cost Estimating experience
  • Advanced MS Excel experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work proactively to complete work assignments
  • Organised, thorough, with attention to detail and good analytical skills
