Service Delivery Manager

Job Description

Are you a focused and driven Service Delivery Manager with a desire for continuous service improvement in the pursuit of outstanding service delivery to Public Sector customers?

Working as part of the delivery team, you will be managing service delivery to a number of key Public Service organisations and ensuring adherence to the appropriate SLA’s / KPI’s and other customer requirements.

This role brings real variety including:

  • Managing the delivery of one or more service contracts for our Public Sector customers
  • Communicating and working directly with customers to ensure we meet their high standards of service execution
  • Single point of responsibility for the management of service contract budgets, work in progress and aged debt
  • Managing, motivating and communicating with your service teams to ensure that each member has a clear role and set of responsibilities, and that the team works effectively together
  • Providing input to the pre-sales process to support the production of high-quality proposals
  • Participating in the continual improvement of the delivery function


We are looking for a Service Delivery Manager with intelligence, drive, enthusiasm and the determination to succeed in a challenging environment.  In addition to a strong track record of flawless service delivery, and excellent organisation and communication skills, we need candidates with:

  • Demonstrable track record of first-class service delivery encompassing application support, infrastructure and IT managed services, underpinned by strong technical understanding
  • Knowledge and capability to implement the portfolio of ITIL services including Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Release Management, Availability Management, Capacity Management and Knowledge Management
  • Capability to build multi-disciplinary service teams
  • Consistent decision making ability which is logical, reasoned and weighs up multiple interests of the service
  • Someone who’ll listen to and evaluate feedback from the customer and ensure good management of concerns
  • Excellent commercial awareness
  • Formal ITILv3 qualifications

Ideally, you will also have some of the following:

  • Experience of delivering services to UK Public Secator organisations
  • Knowledge of service delivery models in place in the UK Public Sector
  • Service Design experience
  • Experience of third party supplier management
  • Experience of contributing to pre-sales and proposal writing
