Test Analyst

Job Description
We are seeking an exceptional candidate to perform the role of a Test Analyst within our Transportation Division. This permanent position will be based at our office in Glasgow.

The successful candidate can look forward to working alongside a talented and capable development team who try their best to create as few defects as possible for you to find, while providing Test Assurance using test driven development methodologies.

Working along with other Test Analysts, a Test Lead and a Test Manager, you will be required to perform system testing internally, as well as Integration, Regression and various stages of Acceptance Testing with our customers.

The successful individual will be responsible for:

  • Authoring and peer reviewing systems test cases and producing acceptance test documentation to a high quality standard
  • Constructing and executing systems test cases, recording results and observations
  • Working with Design and Development Teams to ascertain root causes of, and solutions to, defects
  • Estimating own tasks accurately, in order to facilitate successful project planning
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders
  • Making best use of supporting test tools

The following skills and experience must be demonstrated:

  • Effective communication
  • Experience of applying different test methodologies, including Test Driven Development
  • Appropriate understanding of business requirements and design documents
  • Understanding of range of testing tools (Microsoft Test Manager / TFS preferable)
  • Understanding of Quality principles
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycles
  • Agile Methodologies
The following skills and experience would be desirable:
  • Knowledge of Test Automation Tools
  • Technical skills in Automation Testing, Selenium preferred
  • Knowledge of API test tools (i.e. SOAP UI)
  • Any UX and or BI exposure would be beneficial
  • ISTQB/ISEB Foundation certificate
  • Previous experience of testing with clients
