Service Group Design Lead

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Group Design Lead based in our Whiteley Office.  This is a permanent position and the successful candidate must have or be eligible for SC Clearance.

The Service Group Design Lead is responsible for developing the service strategy and resulting processes and procedures for the enduring Platform Services.  This includes the development of business processes that align with all layers of the Service Integration and Service Management Frameworks, as well those resulting from the maturing Service Design.  This design will need to satisfy both the requirements and work within the overall Service Model.  The Service Group Design Lead will also be responsible for the work package management of all work performed within the Service Group work package, ensuring all work meets agreed quality criteria and is delivered on time and within budget.

As part of the leadership team of the Service Implementation team, and reporting directly to the Service Implementation Leader, the Service Group Design Lead will have the following responsibilities:

Service Design

  • Responsible for the creation, implementation and validation of the Service Group artefacts including the support processes and procedures to be used by the Service Group Resolver team
  • Creation of the strategy for the enduring support of the  Services
  • Liaising with the Service Management Design Lead to develop support processes and procedures for the Service Group

Work Package Management

  • Detailed planning of Service Group Design work
  • Work package management of the Service Group Design work package, including the tasking of team members, maintaining budgets and work schedules
  • Regular and accurate work package reporting including Earned Value Management reporting
  • Identification and recruitment of members of the Service Group Design team

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated expertise in business process design, modelling and implementation within large scale enterprise-grade technical solutions meeting complex business requirements
  • Experience of change management and its application within transformation projects
  • Ability to identify and understand business drivers
  • Experience in business performance analysis
  • Experience of developing and implementing processes aligned with ITIL principles
  • Ability to identify and understand business drivers
  • Strong problem-solving and triage skills with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced and rapidly changing work environment
  • Strategic thinker, coupled with a pragmatic hands-on approach to getting the job done
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to self-manage and work independently, work to tight deadlines, prioritize workloads and work with related internal business functions such as commercial, legal and finance
