We are hiring an Event Analyst to support a major UK Government programme from our location in central London.

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY

Reporting into the Service Operations Lead, the Event Analyst will be responsible for the effective day to day running of all alerting (both reactive and proactive) within SIAM based on the ITIL Management framework.  This is in order to make sure that the relevant alerts are configured to minimise disruption to the business.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Act as the central point for all Event Management activities
  • Strong knowledge of Event Management tools such as SCOM, BMC, MicroSoft System Centre including SCOM, SCORCH & SCCM, & BMC BPPM (ProactiveNet)
  • Strong general knowledge of IT infrastructure environment(s)
  • Implement robust management procedures and communications channels
  • Identify issues and risks associated with the process and present solutions
  • Escalation point for any events that fall outside of the process, these then need to be aligned to existing operation and service levels
  • Work with SIAM project teams to advise and implement the appropriate alerting to meet service requirements
  • Work with SIAM Supplier Towers to review their current and new alerting requirements
  • Develop strong relationships with key team members across multiple levels of SIAM and partner Supplier Towers
  • Reporting requirements to facilitate monthly service reviews
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work in an effective manner.
  • Methodical and disciplined approach to work.
  • Experience of working in a fast paced demanding environment with multiple stakeholders and client interfaces.
  • Ability to demonstrate the determination and drive that will be required to deliver a challenging role
Essential skills and experience:
  • ITIL Foundations certified
  • Understand and work effectively in an IT Service Management environment
  • Ability to work in an environment with evolving requirements and dynamic schedules
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to develop and recommend solutions
  • Strong experience in writing and presenting service reports
